Years from now our children and our children’s children will read about it.  The great media hoax.  Yes, you heard it here first.  :)  The great media hoax that says we are living in especially economic “bad”, hard times.  They’ll read how millions of people were willing to believe it and how that belief fed on itself and perpetuated the myth that then took form.  This is our media and what it projects on the screen is merely a reflection of what we are willing to believe.  It is a very literal view on the TV screen that we are willing to give our authority to.  How do we do that?  By watching it, reading it, listening to it, paying attention to it, lending our agreement to it and ultimately our consent.

What a great mirror it is that reflects how easily we hand over our authority to some unwanted thing by giving our attention and our consent to it.  And over time the consent that we repeatedly give to something causes a thing to harden into fact.  We forget we have a choice.

Ah, yes, I remember now.  I do have a choice.  Forget about the great media hoax, this too shall pass.  In my everyday life what I want to pay attention to, the question I want to ask myself, especially when I begin to travel down a path that just plain feels yucky – I want to remember this question:  What am I giving my consent to?  What am I lending my agreement with?  And then, deep breath.  What do I want to give my attention to?  What am I willing to believe?  What do I want to give my consent to?

What shall I take to be real in my world today?

I am not I.
I am this one
walking beside me whom I do not see,
whom at times I manage to visit,
and whom at other times I forget;
the one who remains silent while I talk,
the one who forgives, sweet, when I hate,
the one who takes a walk when I am indoors,
the one who will remain standing when I die.

About a year ago, on the Abe cruise I heard them explain that
the vortex is the “eye of the storm”.   The eye of the hurricane.
My interpretation of what that means: it’s the calm, knowing
place.  So in a vibrational sense the vortex is that place where
manifestation has already happened.  By getting in the vortex, you
become the one vibrationally who is already living your dreams.

I’m including an Abraham quote below on the vortex and following
that are my comments again:

“The Universe has 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 or 100 or a thousand
options lined up to accommodate you and what you want.  You just
have to get in the vortex.  You have to tell the story of what you want
until you do not have a vibrational difference between the story that
you are offering and the story of what’s in the vortex.  You’ve got to
find the vibrational essence of what you are looking for and when you
do, it must come to you, it cannot defy you, it cannot be denied you,
it must come, it is Law, you see.  {…}  We want you to get in the vortex
not because you have to get there for the stuff to manifest.  We want
you to get into the vortex because it feels so good in the vortex.
Knowing feels so much better than not knowing.  Knowledge of what
you desire is delicious while doubting is contradiction of who you are.”

Abraham ~ Denver, CO 7/12/08 Track 5

I love this quote for many reasons but especially because it says something
that is often glossed over: “We want you to get in the vortex not because you
have to get there for the stuff to manifest.  We want you to get into the vortex
because it feels so good in the vortex”.   Any getting in the vortex to try to figure
out how to get your stuff, any scheming, any chasing after is meddling in step 2
which is the job of Universe/Source/God/Field.

Why does stuff manifest better than you could imagine it?  Because the Universe
operates with a greater resourcefulness than you could ever possibly imagine.
The same Universe that is orchestrating an untold number of complex processes
in your body right this moment.  The same U that has coordinated these countless
processes to work in concert with each other.  And that’s not even the tip of the
iceberg of the resources of the Universe.  The locally focused “I”, does not have
these resources – that’s why it’s not our job to do anything with an agenda of making
it happen.  We have only one job and that’s to go there in the vortex.  Be it.  Know it.  Have it.

what is the purpose of the sun?

my cat’s perspective:

the porpoise of the sun
yes, pun intended
we like fish

back to the porpoise of the sun

is to lay
stretched out
no cares

the sun is for my people to give up their
worries to
so they come and love and snuggle up
next to me

ah, sun

People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life.
I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking.
I think what we’re seeking
is an experience of being alive…
so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.

I struggled a bit choosing which piece to bring you today to celebrate
love on this Valentine’s Day.  I finally settled on this simple and beautiful
poem from Mary Oliver.  Dogs are such givers of unconditional love and
if I were to live by Percy’s advice I suspect I would lead a satisfying and
good life.

Love, love, love says Percy.
And run as fast as you can
along the shining beach, or the rubble, or the dust.
Then, go to sleep.
Give up your body heat, your beating heart.
Then, trust.

Continuing on the love theme this week…here is yesterday’s Note from the Universe.  You can sign
up for these clever little ditties at www.tut.com

Here’s the thing. Admission into time and space requires a belief in limits: a belief that both time and
space are real; that you can therefore have and have-not; that love can be lost or found; and that you
are what your physical senses show you and no more.

These illusions immediately lead you to believe that you are incomplete. Yet, far from indicating you
are flawed, they reveal your brilliance by filling you with desire, igniting your emotions, fueling your
passions, and catapulting you out into the world where journeys are begun, connections are made,
and dreams come true… only to be replaced by new dreams as your divine sense of incompleteness persists.

This is by design. Feeling incomplete does not make you so. It’s how legends are born, giants are made, and
history is written. It’s why you’re here. To ever so briefly escape your true identity as you live with an
unquenchable thirst that will lead into adventures of grandeur, discovery, and a realization that love is all there is.

Your trusty accomplice,
The Universe

The Rose

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
An endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
And you it’s only seed.

It’s the heart, afraid of breaking,
That never learns to dance.
It’s the dream, afraid of waking,
That never takes a chance.
It’s the one who won’t be taken,
Who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dyin’,
That never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely,
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love,
In the spring becomes the rose.

As sung by Bette Midler
Music and Lyrics by Amanda McBroom

I have come into this world to see this:
the sword drop from men’s hands even at the height
of their arc of anger
because we have finally realized there is just one flesh to wound

I have come into this world to see this: all creatures hold hands as
we pass through this miraculous existence we share on the way
to even a greater being of soul,
a being of just ecstatic light, forever entwined and at play
with Him.
I have come into this world to hear this:
every song the earth has sung since it was conceived in
the Divine’s womb and began spinning from
His wish,
every song by wing and fin and hoof,
every song by hill and field and tree and woman and child,
every song of stream and rock,
every song of tool and lyre and flute,
every song of gold and emerald
and fire,
every song the heart should cry with magnificent dignity
to know itself as
for all other knowledge will leave us again in want and aching –
only imbibing the glorious Sun
will complete us.
I have come into this world to experience this:
men so true to love
they would rather die before speaking
an unkind
men so true their lives are His covenant –
the promise of
I have come into this world to see this:
the sword drop from men’s hands
even at the height of
their arc of
because we have finally realized
there is just one flesh
we can wound.

The theme is love.  Starting with yesterday’s blog post
and through February 14th, I will post variations on the
subject of what makes the world go round.

as much as you can
from where you are
with what you’ve got.
That’s the best you
can ever do.
It does no good to
search frantically for
peace, to seek
anxiously after love,
joy or freedom.
If you want joy,
be joyful.
If you want peace,
be peaceful.
